Arlington Baha'i Community Welcome to Arlington Baha'i Community Website

Sunday Morning program

Every Sunday, children and adult classes are offered at Tarrant County Baha’i Center. Breakfast is served between 9:45 – 10:30 AM, and the program starts at 10:30. Please join us for an hour of prayers, inspirational directed discussion, devotions, and children classes.

Worship & Prayer

The Bahá’í teachings prescribe daily prayer and intimate communion with God as the foundation for a life devoted to spiritual advancement and service to humanity.

Prayers are offered individually or in devotional meetings, which are held throughout Arlington in homes small and large. The heart of a devotional meeting is the sharing of prayers and passages from Holy Scriptures, but beyond this there is no set form.

Devotional meetings are a chance for us to learn how to create an uplifting, spiritual atmosphere. This often involves music and the arts. The key is to help clear our minds from the anxieties of our daily lives and to meditate on our higher purpose.

You are welcome to join a devotional meeting near you, and to simply sit, meditate and enjoy the atmosphere, or to play a more active role in hosting or organizing one.

Children’s Spiritual Education

Developing the moral capacities in our children is of fundamental importance, not only to their own future happiness, but to the service and advancement of our entire society.

Providing spiritual education for children has long been an element of the Bahá’í community, which nurtures the hearts and minds of children, complementing the education they receive at school. The classes aim to inspire in children a love for God and the Founders of all the great religions in the world.

All children are welcome, and no child participates without the approval of his or her parents. These classes aim to help children develop social skills, build friendships, and acquire virtues, through the use of lessons, stories, games, music and the arts.

Youth Groups

Bahá’í  youth and their friends gather regularly to explore themes and questions characteristic to their age, to act on their developing sense of responsibility towards building community, and strengthen their understanding of the importance of faith and tenacity to a life of service.

To respond to the needs of youth and teens throughout the world, the Bahá’í community offers the Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program.  This program is aimed at building the capacity for moral reasoning and channeling the energy of young people between the ages of 11 and 14, and is carried out in homes, community centers, and public places throughout Dallas. Training and hands-on accompaniment is offered for those who wish to become Program mentors and volunteers.

Study Circles

Bahá’í study circles provide participants with the knowledge, spiritual insights and skills to contribute to the betterment of society, starting with their own neighborhood.

The first step is the group study of a workbook, Reflections on the Life of the Spirit, which is one of seven such books. It examines spiritual matters such as prayer, meditation, life and death and the development of the soul.

Study circles are held in an uplifting environment conducive to the spiritual empowerment of individuals, who come to see themselves as active agents of their own learning. The role of the study circle facilitator is not to impart knowledge, but to assist discussion. Study circles feature participatory learning, involving discussion with others, and the use of the arts.
